Failed or Damaged Baffles. The inlet and outlet baffles inside your tank prevent solids from flowing into the drain field. When they crack or fall apart (common in older tanks with concrete or fiberglass baffles), solids enter the leach field and clog it. We inspect and replace baffles as needed, which is often far less expensive than waiting until the drain field fails.
Cracked or Leaking Tank. Concrete septic tanks can develop cracks over decades of use. While a crack doesn’t always mean immediate tank failure, it can allow groundwater to infiltrate or allow effluent to leak into surrounding soil. We assess the damage and determine whether repair or replacement is appropriate.
Damaged Lid or Riser. Septic lids that crack or deteriorate become a safety hazard — a child or animal can fall through a failed lid. We replace cracked lids and install concrete or plastic risers to bring access points to grade level, making future pumping and inspection much easier.
Blocked Inlet Pipe. If waste isn’t flowing from the house into the tank properly, the problem is often at the inlet pipe — either a clog or a broken connection. We clear the blockage and repair or replace the inlet pipe.
High Liquid Level. If your tank fills faster than normal between pumpings, the outlet baffle may be failed, the drain field may be saturated, or there may be groundwater intrusion. We diagnose which issue is occurring and recommend the right repair.
Septic tank problems compound quickly. A failed baffle that costs a few hundred dollars to repair can, if ignored, lead to a drain field failure that costs $5,000 to $15,000 or more to replace. The tank repair is always the better investment.
